3 Steps To Reframing Your Overwhelm

If you’re an adult human being reading this (hey), you’ve probably had to deal with overwhelm at some point or other. Hell, maybe you’re overwhelmed right now. It’s that feeling of foundational panic; there’s too much to get done; you can’t make the right decision; you can’t really tell up from down.

Firstly, let this be a reminder that Netflix and your sofa aren’t the answer. These things can often just mask or distract from how we’re feeling, instead of dealing with the problem. But dealing with the overwhelm doesn’t have to be… well… overwhelming. Easy solutions come in the form of a yoga and meditation practice, going for a walk, getting some movement, fresh air, or just slowing down.

As well as the above, there’s actually a wonderful mindset fix you can pull to make this even easier. It requires a little faith, a little imagination, but can be a total game changer.

So, once you’ve established a regular and joy-inducing yoga and meditation habit, here’s the reframing to help you beat overwhelm:

1. Image you just have one teeny tiny baby step to take before someone wonderful takes over everything for you.

2. While taking that littlest of step, imagine everyone being amazed at your talent, Googling your name in wonder, writing books about your life, and feeling oh-so-cool for being one of the first to follow you on Instagram.

3. Rinse and repeat 😎

It.

Just.

Works.

Keep the faith, you wonderful human, you. Nothing lasts forever, even overwhelm.
