How To Have A Bad Day

This is for anyone who’s ever had a plain old bad day.

There doesn’t have to be a reason for it (or maybe there is – it doesn’t matter).

You might just feel tired, frustrated, overwhelmed, sad…

I had one recently. And you know what a friend said to me when I told her how I felt?

“It’s okay to just be with this, there’s nothing else to do.

“Because you know that, as these thoughts and feelings arise, so they will disappear and dissipate eventually. Just let yourself be here.

“You never know when things will turn around.”

And this, really, is our yoga practice.

To see, notice, FEEL what’s happening for us in this moment right now and to give it – whatever it is – some space.

And ironically, this is actually how we’re able to more easily move out of negative stuff than if we try to push it away.

You can practice with Katarina, the wonderful wisdom behind these words and a beautiful teacher of mellow yoga classes, in her bundle of restorative classes inside my membership here.
