Nervous system regulation tool
Kettle-based* Interoception.
HOW: Use the kettle as your prompt. Every time you boil it, take a minute to ask:- how's my body feeling right now?- what emotions are here?
Be patient, and sit with whatever comes up.
*Not a tea drinker? Replace with something else you do frequently during your day.
WHY: This is the foundations of interoception — feeling internal sensations. We've developed a good ability, as a society, to turn off the switch.
Turning it back on is the corner-stone of nervous system regulation.
Listen: Dial 'M' For Monkey
This is old-school Bonobo and one of my favourite albums.Mellow dance tunes, epic little riffs. Sort of magic.
A 5-minute practice that’ll change your day (and maybe your week)
A book I'm loving: Blue Mind
How water makes you happier, more connected and better at what you do.
