I didn’t realise it at the time, while I was wallowing in bed, crying at everything, and struggling to get up to brush my teeth and drink water. But the really shit times can be a glorious gift, if only we allow ourselves to go there.

That’s been me this past month — I properly burned out for a few days at the end of May. I was forcing another week-long ‘launch’ of my anti-burnout programme while sweating my face off in that 30º heat we had back then. I was stressed, exhausted, hot, and really, really bothered.

Thank god. Because that pit of despair taught me I wasn’t doing something right.

We need to allow it to be shit for a while before we’re able to see the light.

So trust, courage, and faith have been my friends this month and I’m properly leaning into it. Also some epic tunes, a BRILLIANT TV show, and some other good stuff — all below.

Whatever you’re going through right now, you’re allowed to be well and truly in it. Keep the faith, my friend. And thanks for being here with me.

With enormous love,

Chloe 🧡

PS. I’ve just released The 10-Day Pause — a 10-day audio-programme to help you get your presence back.

And Joy Unplugged is no longer cohorted, which means you can join me inside anytime you want. I’m in there every Friday answering questions and cheering you on.

Listen

I recently learned how much AI music is released every day.

75k songs.

Every day.

So I’ve gone deep into a Floyd listening cave with their album The Wall in particular, and it’s brilliant. This is why I love guitar solos so much (esp Comfortably Numb).

Read

If you read nothing else of mine from this last month, read this:

I also wrote this guest article for Teapro featuring a tiny rant about Starbucks and my step-by-step tea ritual.

Watch: The Change

Turns out Bridget Christie isn’t just a panel-show comedian, but an incredible writer. This show is the feminist antidote to every Instagram advert you’ve got annoyed about. The best show I’ve watched in ages. Also never wanted to go to The Forest of Dean more.

Get it on Channel 4 here.

A book I’m loving: The Bell Jar

It’s taken me this long to get around to reading this. It’s gorgeously written, and it’s just taken a properly dark turn (don’t tell me how it ends).

Wahoo! It’s not all doom-and-gloom for climate change.
